The Pilatus PC-21 is a single-turboprop, low wing swept monoplane advanced trainer aircraft manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft. The PC-21 has a high-efficiency three-spar, swept wing design with hydraulic ailerons supported by spoilers and automatic yaw compensation. The PC-21 is fitted with a digital glass cockpit with head-up displays, an up-front control panel, hands-on throttle and stick control and three multi-function displays. The PC-21’s avionics system can be modified to suit the student pilot’s phase of training. The maiden flight of the Pilatus PC-21 took place on the 1st of July 2002 and it went into service on April 2008. Primary users were the Swiss Air Force and the United Arab Emirates Air Force. There were approx. 131 Pilatus PC-21 produced, most are still in active services. Cost per unit was approx. 9 million USD.
