The Convair B-58 Hustler is a US strategic bomber aircraft manufactured by Convair. The B-58 Hustler was originally planned to fly at high altitudes and supersonic speeds to avoid Soviet fighters and was said to be the first supersonic bomber built in the West. The maiden flight of the B-58 Hustler took place on the 11th of November 1956 and it went into service on the 15th of March 1960. Primary user is the United States Air Force (USAF). There were 116 B-58 Hustler produced. The B-58 Hustler retired from its service on the 31st of January 1970. Cost per unit was around approx. 12.44 million USD.
